In the event of an energy fault

In the event of a fully discharged traction battery, any type of towing is permitted : towing on a flatbed truck or towing on the road using the tow ring (please see following pages).

All other cases

Only towing on a flatbed truck is permitted.

Towing on a flatbed truck

Breakdown recovery must be performed on a flat surface under all circumstances except where the vehicle is immobilised following a full discharge of the traction battery. In the event of a total energy loss, please see the following pages.

Before any breakdown service, insert the key in the ignition to unlock the steering column. Turn it to position M.

The regulations in force for breakdown recovery must always be observed.

In the event of an energy fault : towing on the road

In the event of a fully discharged traction battery, it is possible to recover on a flatbed truck or tow the vehicle using the tow ring, following the instructions below.

Before towing, insert the key in the switch to unlock the steering column. Turn it to position M. Position the lever in neutral position N.

The column is unlocked, the accessory functions are supplied: the vehicle lights can be used (hazard warning lights, brake lights etc.). The towed vehicle’s lights must be switched on at night.

The speed specified by current legislation for towing must always be observed.

When the engine is stopped, steering and braking assistance are not operational.

It is prohibited to hang the car to lower arm or Rear Axle. To hang car there is a specific place provided.

Front towing point 3.

This towing point must only be used for towing: never use it for lifting the vehicle directly or indirectly.

Ensure that the towing ring is bolted correctly.

Risk of losing the towed object.

Unclip the cover 2 by inserting a flatblade screwdriver or similar under the cover.

Tighten the towing ring 1 fully : first by hand until it stops.

Only use tow ring 1 located under the boot carpet in the tool kit Tools.

Note : please do not use a damaged towing ring.

Do not remove the key from the ignition when the vehicle is being towed.

There is no rear towing point provided in the vehicle and is not suitable for towing any load

Do not leave the tools unsecured inside the vehicle as they may come loose under braking.

After use, check that all the tools are correctly clipped into the tool kit, then, depending on the vehicle, position it correctly in its housing.
