Dacia Striker
The speed limiter function controls the engine and braking system to help you not to exceed a driving speed that you have chosen, known as the limit speed.
The speed limiter function can be activated from 0 mph (0 km/h).
Controls
- 1
Switch to activate and increase the limit speed (SET/+).
- 2
Depending on the vehicle, road sign detection activation switch Road sign detection.
- 3
Switch for selecting/deselecting the driving aids, depending on the vehicle:
- adaptive cruise control;
- Speed limiter;
- OFF.
- 4
Switch the function to standby, with limit speed stored (0).
- 5
Recalling the stored limit speed (RES).
- 6
Switch to activate and decrease the limit speed (SET/˗).
tip
You can link the speed limiter to the "Road sign detection" function Road sign detection.
Driving
When a limit speed has been set but not yet reached, driving is similar to driving a vehicle without the speed limiter function.
Once you have reached the stored speed, no effort on the accelerator pedal will allow you to exceed the programmed speed except when necessary (refer to information on "Exceeding the limit speed").
Switching on
Press switch 3 until the light 7 lights up grey on the instrument panel. The "Speed limiter selected" message appears on the instrument panel accompanied by dashes to indicate that the speed limiter function is in operation and waiting to store a limit speed.
To store the current speed, press switch 1 (SET/+) or switch 6 (SET/˗): the limited speed replaces the dashes and, depending on the vehicle, the warning light 7 appears in white.
The minimum speed stored is:
- 19 mph (30 km/h) on vehicles fitted with a manual gearbox;
- 12 mph (20 km/h) on vehicles fitted with an automatic gearbox.
warning
Please note that you must keep your feet close to the pedals in order to react in an emergency.
Varying the limit speed
The limit speed can be changed by pressing repeatedly or holding down:
- switch 1 (SET/+) to increase the speed;
- switch 6 (SET/˗) to decrease the speed.
Exceeding the limit speed
You can exceed the limited speed at any time by: pressing the accelerator pedal firmly and fully beyond the point of resistance.
While the speed is being exceeded, the programmed speed displayed on the instrument panel flashes.
Then, release the accelerator pedal: the speed limiter function returns as soon as you reach a speed lower than the stored speed.
Note: depending on the vehicle, it is also possible to exceed the limited speed by pressing the accelerator pedal until it is near the point of resistance.
In this case, a sound signal is emitted in addition to the alert displayed on the instrument panel.
Limited speed cannot be maintained
In the event of a steep descent, the limited speed cannot be maintained by the system: the stored speed flashes in red on the instrument panel and a sound signal is emitted at regular intervals to inform you.
warning
If the speed limiter is not available (after several attempts to activate), contact an approved Dealer.
Putting the function on standby
The speed limiter function is suspended when you press switch 4 (O). The limit speed is stored and displayed in grey on the instrument panel.
Recalling the limit speed
If a speed has been stored, it can be recalled by pressing the switch 5.
tip
When the speed limiter is on standby, pressing switch 6 (SET/˗) or switch 1 (SET/+) reactivates the function without taking the stored speed into account: the current speed of the vehicle is taken into account.
Switching off the function
The speed limiter function is interrupted when you press switch 3 until OFF is reached, and the "Driving assist. deactivated" message appears on the instrument panel. In this case, the speed is no longer stored.
The warning light 6 disappears from the instrument panel to confirm that the function is deactivated.
tip
To exit the driving assistance systems, press switch 3 as many times as necessary until you reach OFF. The "Driving Assistance deactivated" message appears on the instrument panel.
